1917 Express 25 cent red with local hand-overprint "PECHINO" (without the new indication of the value), used with "R.R. POSTE ITALIANE/PECHINO-CINA" cancellation, fine and rare, this being one of only two recorded examples, which were at the time overprinted with the same characters used to overprint the regularly issued stamps (Sass. Pechino 1-7), but whose use, however, was not officially authorized; cert. Fiecchi (1960) and Avanzo (2021) (Sass. 2026 €25'000 for an imperfect stamp, x2=€50'000 for perfect quality).
