1840. 1d black, Plate 1b, Lettered SJ, on 1840 entire letter to Moorgate, the stamp folded horizontally upon application and thus struck with two strikes of the Maltese Cross in red. Black "Fenchurch st/1Py.P.Paid" handstamp in black at right and framed London "Paid" datestamp in red below (Nov 10). A most unusual usage and rare thus. Cert. Brandon
