The Unique, Largest Recorded Franking
1856 (13.5) Envelope from the famous Barlow correspondence to Georgetown, franked two close to good margined singles of the 1856 4c black on magenta, one just touched at right, both initialled "E.D.W." for the postal clerk Wight, paying the double rate, clearly tied by Demerara double-arc cds, with a similar on reverse.
The only recorded cover with two examples, hence the largest recorded franking on the fewer than fifteen recorded example on cover.
An exceptionally fine quality item in it's cut-square state.
