1859 20 Gr., slate-grey (grigio ardesia), 10 Gr., indigo (indaco), 5 Gr. Plate I, carmine-rose (rosa carminio), and 1 Gr. Plate III, light olive-green (verde oliva chiaro), on cover dated 26 March 1860 to Rome. The 1 Gr. has its lower margin touched, the remaining stamps with good to clear margins. Palermo despatch cds at right, with Naples transit and Rome arrival datestamps on reverse. Small repair to the face of the cover at right. Signed Russo in pencil.
A highly attractive four-colour franking, unpriced in the Sassone catalogue. A rare and important postal history item of outstanding exhibition appeal.
