1859 10 Gr., deep blue (azzurro cupo), horizontal pair together with a 2 Gr., on entire dated 8 August 1859 to Genoa, the left-hand 10 Gr. showing position 61 retouch (line above the “B” of “Bollo”). Endorsed "Postale Francese" and struck with the red three-line maritime handstamp, with Genoa arrival backstamp of the 12th. Fine and attractive.

A rare and highly attractive maritime cover, bearing an unpriced franking combination and the scarce position 61 retouch. An important exhibition-quality postal history item.
