Cancelled by framed handstamps, with red oval-framed MAZZARA despatch handstamp and Palermo Partenza transit overstruck by the bluish French maritime D. Siciles S.F. Marseille datestamp. French "15" rate marking, with arrival and transit backstamps, the wax seal having been excised. Some slight paper ageing. AD pencil initials alongside the 10 Gr. pair.
A remarkable and rare three colour franking cover to France, bearing an attractive five-stamp franking paying the 29 grana rate. An outstanding maritime postal history item, combining Sicilian and French postal markings with exceptional exhibition appeal.
