1859 5 Gr. Plate I, dark carmine (carminio scuro), 2 Gr. Plate I, blue (azzurro) on Palermo paper, and 1 Gr. Plate II, olive-grey (oliva grigiastro) on Naples paper, the latter showing position 59 retouch, on registered (Assicurata) cover dated 27 July 1859 to Palermo. Oval-framed NARO despatch handstamp and Palermo arrival cds alongside. Stamps with close to good margins.
A highly attractive and scarce three-colour mixed value franking cover, made particularly desirable by the inclusion of the 1 Grana Plate II retouched position 59. An excellent exhibition-quality postal history item.
