1859 2 Gr. Plate III, blue (azzurro), on cover dated 12 December 1859 from the Sardinian Consulate in Messina to the Sardinian Consulate in Syracuse. Consular handstamp on reverse, struck across the flap join and consequently affected by opening.
A highly interesting consular correspondence carried between two Sardinian diplomatic offices within Sicily. An unusual and desirable postal history item.
