1859 1 Gr. Plate I, state II, olive-brown (bruno olivastro), extraordinary horizontal strip of nine, positions 11–19. A remarkable multiple of exceptional importance and visual impact. The strip shows clear retouches in positions 16 and 18, each stamp individually cancelled, confirming full postal use throughout the entire piece. Position 17 shows a cut into the bottom margin, the multiple is exceptionally well preserved, with generally fine to very fine impressions and strong overall freshness for this rare issue.
This outstanding ensemble represents one of the most significant known multiples of the 1 Grano Plate I, combining both technical philatelic interest through the presence of recorded retouches and exceptional aesthetic appeal as a long, intact used strip. Such a multiple is of the highest rarity. It is of particular importance for the study of plating and retouch varieties, offering a rare opportunity to observe consecutive positions in a continuous sequence.
A showpiece of great exhibition quality and historical significance, highly desirable for the most advanced collections of the Bourbon Kingdom issues, and of likely unique status in this format.
