Description

1840 1d Black Plate 1b. A horizontal strip of six (MD–MI), mostly with good margins, just touched at the lower right corner of MI. Bold strikes of red Maltese Cross cancellations. Light bend on MH and a small thin spot in the bottom margin between MG–MH. A lovely and most attractive multiple with superb overall appearance.

Provenance: Seymour sale 5 1952, then RL auction in 1954.
