Samarang. 1868, 10 cent red with a central and clear strike of the Samarang circular postmark 2.2 1870 in black. A superb central cancel with the year and date fully legible on a stamp in very fine condition, with a minimal tear in bottom right corner invisible from front. Most attractive.
The use of the circular date mark here was contrary to regulations; the stamp should have been obliterated by the half-round franco postmark.
