Rembang. 1868, 10 cent red on folded letter sent from Rembang to Cheribon, tied to envelope by the Rembang half-round franco cancel 27.12 1868 with an additional strike on the front, also manuscript “franco” written under stamp and a red Chinese chop. Complete entire letter sheet with Cheribon arrival 29.12 on back. Stamp in very fine condition despite a few blunt perforations at top, with superb strikes of the half-round franco. Despite some light ink corrosion to the address, a most attractive and balanced cover with superb postmarks and the stamp used in first year of issue which is quite rare; one of three letters known with this issue.
