Soerakarta. 1864, 10 cent red block of four, with good margins on all sides and very wide margin at bottom. Cancelled by a very neat and crisp Soerakarta postmark 18.8 1868. An extremely rare block of four with the perfectly-struck postmarks that were characteristic of the Soerakarta post office in Central Java. The block with a small piece missing in right side between stamps, folded horizontally between stamps, and with a large part of envelope paper still stuck to back. Most attractive and fresh, about 5 used blocks of four have been recorded.
