AN EXCEPTIONAL LETTER WITH A STAMP IN PERFECT CONDITION. LETTERS FROM THE SUB-POST OFFICES ARE ESPECIALLY RARE AND THIS ONE OPENS UP WELL TO SHOW THE LINE MARK WITH HANDWRITTEN DATING BELOW; UNIQUE WITH MANUSCRIPT DATE.
Klatten, in Central java between Djokjokarta and Surakarta, opened as sub-post office in April 1864 and became a full post office in March 1872. This letter with stamp cancelled by the FRANCO in Klatten, and transit datemark Djokjokarta on the same date.
