Group Lot: 1849-1864, group of eight pre-philatelic entire letters, showing multiple routings and rates; with 4 maritime mails (zeebrief) with Dutch arrivals Den Helder, Hellevoetsluis and interesting rate and route markings; large oval "Manado Zeebrief" postmark on 1863 overland mail to Netherlands; "Samarang Franco" on quadruple rate letter to London; overland letter sent by Méssageries Impériale; "Zeebrief Samarang" on letter with Zierikzee marking and interesting rate correction (with price sticker $1500). A very fine assembly with letters from Tocila, Bulterman, and Magnolia collections (with excellent write-up); a unique opportunity for the specialised philatelist.
