ca. 1790, “VOC 10 St” Handstamp (WdB 6a). Exceptional strike on ca. 1790 folded cover from Batavia to “WelEd: Heer De Heer Jan Cornelis van Numwegen te Samarang”. Folded cover with some minor wear at right and ink erosion spot at end of “Samarang”, large part of black seal on back.
Extremely Fine, a choice and early strike, illustrated in De Beer De Poststempels in Gebruik in Nederlands Oost-Indie van 1789 tot 1864 (p. 42), with Vleeming certificate (2017).
