1918 (8.10) Stampless picture postcard from Monarga to Paris, bearing the rare French military datestamp “TRÉSOR ET POSTES 8–10/18” (Type 601B), with part cachet on the front of the CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE in violet.

Very little is known about the postal services operated at the French military camp at Monarga during the First World War. This is believed to be the one of only a few items recorded from Cyprus bearing this cancellation, making it an exceptional rarity of both Cypriot and French military postal history. A very fine and important exhibit item.
