1915 stampless On Active Service cover cancelled with the Famagusta bag datestamp and addressed to Edinburgh, Scotland. Sent from Karaolos Camp, the principal British Army camp in Cyprus at the outbreak of the First World War, which was later converted into a prisoner-of-war camp housing approximately 3,000 Ottoman (Turkish) prisoners. Somewhat tatty with flap and edge faults. An exceptionally rare item of military postal history, with only three examples of this usage recorded.
