World War I cover from Cyprus to London, bearing KEdVII 30pa adhesive, severely damaged by seawater after being carried aboard the S.S. Cosseir, which was sunk by a German U-boat during the war. Recovered from the wreck and subsequently delivered to its intended destination through the Returned Letter Section, London. A dramatic and highly desirable maritime disaster cover illustrating the hazards of wartime mail transport.
