1898 (3 June) Registered envelope from Koilani to London, franked with 1894-96 ½pi two single, 1pi and 2pi paying the 4pi registered rate, each precancelled in manuscript with three horizontal lines and “Koilani, 27.5.98, AFK”, then cancelled at Limassol by the “975” numeral obliterator. Reverse with Limassol and London arrival datestamps. An exceptional and exceedingly rare cover from the Koilani village agency, opened in September 1897; the finest of the three recorded covers bearing this manuscript precancellation, all from the same correspondence.
