1892 Rare Registered Usage from Platres: Size G - registered envelope (2 piastres blue) to Larnaca, additionally franked with the 1 piastre rose (Crown CA watermark), tied by the scarce barred numeral "D48" of Platres. The cover bears the PLATRES A / AU 24 92 / CYPRUS datestamp together with the oval REGISTERED A / AU 24 92 / CYPRUS handstamp in red. Routed via Limassol, with transit and arrival backstamps.
A fine and scarce registered usage from the short-lived Platres post office. Some toning, otherwise an attractive and desirable example of early Cypriot postal history.
