1891 (12 Aug) Size F - Registered 2pi envelope from Famagusta, Cyprus to Limassol. Franked with 1882 CA ½ piastre, cancelled by numeral “982” and FAMAGUSTA/CYPRUS A/AU 12 91 datestamp. Addressed to Limassol but returned via the Return Letter Office Department.
Note: Annotated “Not called for” in red manuscript, reflecting that the post office had not yet received the instructional marking handstamp at the time. Various transit cancellations on the reverse. A fine and highly interesting postal history item.
