1882 incoming cover addressed to the Governor’s Assistant, Keith Wisely, at Kykko Monastery, Nicosia. Kykko Monastery served as one of the earliest military and civil headquarters under British occupation.
The cover is handstamped with Larnaca Headquarter Camp datestamp 16.5.1882 on arrival. Available evidence suggests the Headquarter Camp datestamp was used solely as an arrival cancellation.
One of only four recorded examples to date, making this an important and rare piece of early Cyprus postal history.
