Hand-coloured woodcut map of Cyprus from the Latin edition of Cosmographia Universalis, published in Basel, c. 1550 (first issued 1544). The map depicts the island with principal towns, mountain ranges, and coastal features, surrounded by the Mediterranean, and includes a decorative sailing ship and title cartouche. An early and influential printed map of Cyprus from one of the most celebrated Renaissance cosmographies. Presented in very fine condition. Size: 175mm x 125 mm.
