Obverse: ‘javelin’ type; king wearing cap with diadem and royal tunic, standing, holding javelin with spearhead pointed down and sacrificing at altar, with Garuda standard in left field, Brahmi samudra below his left arm, circular Brahmi legend around beginning 1 o'clock. Reverse: goddess Lakshmi with halo sitting on throne with dotted ornament, holding diadem and cornucopia, Brahmi inscription at right, parakramah, tamgha left, dotted border around. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class II, variety A. Raven, SG/group 1.
The crescent that sat between the king and Garuda is just off the flan; this type is often seen in museums but is very rarely offered in auctions.
