Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.75 g. (20 mm). Obverse: Chhatra type; king standing left, offering oblations on a fire altar, with left hand on hilt of sword; attendant at right holding parasol (chhatra) over the king, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: nimbate goddess standing on lotus flower facing , holding long-stemmed lotus flower in her left hand which rests on hip, and diadem in right, with tamgha to left and Brahmi legend to right, vikramadityah. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class I, variety A. Raven, CG2/group 3.
VF+, lustrous surfaces, some sign of cleaning, an area of some edge filing at 3 o'clock position; an area of some light scratches around the foot of the goddess on reverse, which appears to be raised, is in fact a lotus petal on which the goddess stands and is placed upwards.
