Egypt, medals, the International Cotton Congress (C.I.C.C.), Cairo, April 1948, silvered-bronze medal, 75 g. (50 mm). Obverse: bust of Farouk three-quarters left, wearing fez, lotus border. Reverse: three women pick cotton under a blazing sun, distant pyramids. The International Cotton Advisory Committees held its 7th (and last) meeting in Cairo at the time of the Congress. A commemorative stamp was also issued on 1st April 1948. A very scarce medal, with some scratches and edge chips on both sides.
