Post-Gupta, unknown era, unknown type. AV dinar, 7.96 g. (20 mm). Obverse: figure standing facing, holding longbow in left hand, a chakra wheel with four spokes in bottom left field, possibly a standard to left, dotted border around. Reverse: Goddess/Lakshmi sitting facing on lotus, some crude inscription to right.
We have not been able to identify this coin, or any series of which it might form a part. It bears some basic resemblance to the Gupta archer type with Lakshmi sitting on reverse.
Fine-VF, very crude strike, lustre shows through.
Ex Chand Collection British Museum no 6.3.48.
