Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king with halo standing left, wearing tailed tunic over loin cloth, holding a longbow by the middle with string outward, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend in right field, Kumara. Reverse: Lakshmi with halo sitting on seven-petaled lotus, holding diadem and short-stemmed lotus flower, Brahmi legend right srimahendrah. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class II, variety B1. Raven, KG1/group 2.
The archer type of Kumaragupta comes in several distinct types, this one with the king holding the bow turned towards him and string facing outwards.
