Tête de Bouddha Shakyamuni en bronze, Thaïlande, XVe–XVIe siècle, style Chiang Saen.
Bronze à patine brun-vert, avec restes de dorure. L’œil gauche conserve des restes de peinture blanche, particularité rare. Visage au modelé méditatif, sourcils arqués, yeux autrefois incrustés, nez aquilin, lèvres finement souriantes, lobes étirés, chevelure bouclée dominée par un ushnisha. L'ensemble est caractéristique du style Chieng Sen, apparu au nord de la Thaïlande, influencé par l’art Lanna et les traditions mon-khmères.
Etat : Bon état d’origine, sans réparation, manque le lobe de l’oreille gauche. Patine homogène et usures cohérentes avec l’âge.

Bronze Head of Buddha Shakyamuni, Thailand, 15th–16th century, Chiang Saen style, Bronze with a brown-green patina and traces of original gilding. The left eye retains remnants of white pigment a rare surviving feature. The face is modeled with a meditative expression, arched brows, formerly inlaid eyes, aquiline nose, gently smiling lips, elongated earlobes, and curled hair topped by an ushnisha. Typical of the Chieng Sen style, which developed in northern Thailand under Lanna and Mon-Khmer influence.
Condition: Good original condition, no repairs. Loss to the left earlobe.
