A French artisan and dinandier by training, Jean Goardère was awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) in 1955 for his work in hammered pewter and copper. His utilitarian and decorative pieces, entirely handmade, are today sought after by collectors of twentieth-century French decorative arts.
