Kushanas, Kanishka I, c. 127-152, AV quarter dinar, 1.57 g. (13 mm). Obverse: Kanishka, diademed and crowned, standing facing, head left, holding goad and scepter, sacrificing over altar to left; flame at shoulder, Bactrian legend ÞAONANOÞAO KA NhÞKI KOÞANO (King of kings, Kanishka Kushan) around. Reverse: Goddess Nana standing right, nimbate, holding bowl and sceptre, tamgha at right, with Bactrian legend NANAÞAO.
Fine+, reasonably well-defined details, well-centered with legible legend.A very rare quarter fraction with the unusual NANAÞAO spelling of the goddess. This coin manages to incorporate all elements and the entire inscription of the much larger dinar type.
