Gupta Empire, Samudragupta, c. 335-375, AV dinar, 7.14 g. (21 mm). Obverse: Javelin type; king with halo wearing tunic, standing, holding javelin with spearhead pointed down and sacrificing at altar, with Garuda standard in left field, very clear Brahmi Samudra below his left arm, circular Brahmi legend around of which a good portion is legible. Reverse: goddess Lakshmi with halo enthroned with feet on lotus, holding diadem and cornucopia, Brahmi inscription at right, parakramah, tamgha left, dotted border around. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class II.
Fine+, obverse with wear to high relief points and some reddish deposits; reverse struck a little off centre.
