Gupta Empire, Samudragupta, c. 335-375, AV dinar, 7.86 g. (22 mm). Obverse: Javelin type; king with halo wearing royal tunic and large earring, standing, holding javelin with spearhead pointed down and sacrificing at altar, with Garuda standard in left field, Brahmi Samudra below his left arm, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: goddess Lakshmi with halo enthroned with feet on lotus, holding diadem and cornucopia, Brahmi inscription at right, parakramah, tamgha left, dotted border around.
EF, with some flatness to high relief points, with excellent centring and good, in part legible inscription, attractive Garuda standard obverse.
