Gupta Empire, Samudragupta I, c. 335-375, AV dinar, 7.57 g. (21 mm). Obverse: Javelin type; king with halo turned to left wearing royal tunic, holding javelin with spearhead pointed down and sacrificing at altar, with Garuda standard in left field, Brahmi Samudra below his left arm, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: goddess Lakshmi with halo enthroned with feet on lotus, holding diadem and cornucopia, Brahmi inscription at right, parakramah, tamgha left, dotted border around.
Near VF, with some weakness of strike and flattening to figure on both sides, with good centring and crisp, legible inscription on obverse. Some double strike to obverse and signs of very light edge smoothing at 7 o'clock position; a flan crack extends from 8 o'clock towards the centre of the planchet.
