Attica, Athens, AR tetradrachm, 17.20 g. (26 mm), c. 440 BC. Obverse: head of Athena facing right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with olive leaves and palmette. Reverse: owl standing right, head front, ΑΘΕ to right of owl, crescent and olive twig with two leaves behind, all within incuse square.
EF, strongly struck on a characteristic irregular flan, with excellent relief and centering to obverse; with some scuffs to the head of Athena.
